Floral Demo

Welcome to this in-depth demo, where I’ll be taking you through the full process of designing and tattooing a floral extension to an existing shoulder piece.
We’ll begin by sketching the layout, carefully considering flow, balance, and how the new elements transition from the healed tattoo. I’ll show you how I build the design step by step — from initial contour sketching to layering in texture, tone, and softness using five distinct grey values.

Throughout the tattoo process, I’ll be working exclusively with a 3-round liner, using it to shape, shade, and smooth transitions while preserving skin breaks and negative space to enhance clarity. I’ll also explain each design and technical decision along the way — including edge control, tone placement, and how to create natural movement within the composition.
