“with the new age comes a modern approach to learning, artists are gaining so so much from digital study, and sharing their techniques with one another. By way of online learning opportunities, we are now able to share our tips and tricks more easily, bringing the tattoo community together across the globe.”
BUT FINE LINE TATTOOS DON’T LAST DO THEY?
This is a myth, fine line tattoos are created with a fine liner ( e.g. small needle groupings, its a style choice). TATTOOS- Indelible ink inserted into the dermis tends to stay put, that’s why tattoos last, regardless as to whether they were inserted with a coil machine, pen machine, manually etc…
All tattoos will change in appearance over time , due to cell turn over, aging and lifestyle choices. As tattoo artists, we are aiming to mitigate as many risks as we are able, and create a high quality tattoo that will look good for our clients for as long as possible. We can make wise choices with values, line weight, style and placement to help the tattoo navigate the natural passage of time, tattoos tend to blur, widening over time, this is one of the main reasons we prefer fine line tattooing, the finer you start the finer you’ll finish.
EVERY ARTIST HAS ROOM TO GROW!
Learning something new is always a good thing, our students choose what aspects they most enjoy and integrate that into their work. Some techniques are more suited to certain style choices and that’s the FUN PART, watching artists create unique pieces in their own style is what it’s all about. The call for tattooing is bigger than ever before, allowing us all to really specialise in our preferred style!
So what is this training programme?
I have streamlined a system that works for me, having spent many years creating traditional, neo traditional tattooing with coil machines, working in various studios in the UK. I loved tattooing but black and grey most of all, my clients were increasingly asking for fine lines, soft greys, textured tones and subtle pieces, for me this was perfect as this style is exactly what I loved making the most! So I moved into honing my fine line skills to offer what was fast becoming the most demanded style!
I love working with these fine line techniques, they allow me to build up the piece in a fine art way, building the image naturally, I never worry about blowouts, or overworking now, and the whole process is so much more enjoyable. I love my job and I am so happy and grateful to be able to share the tips and tricks that have helped me so much over the years.
HOW WILL THIS PROGRAMME HELP YOU?
The methodology taught in this training programme show you exactly how I create my tattoos, these techniques are applicable to any fine line tattoo you want to create. Once you learn the fundamentals of how to configure your machine and what action works best for each mark, then you’re away, you simply apply these techniques to your artwork and have another string to your bow as a professional tattoo artist.

Can I Do This All By Myself...?
“To be honest, when I launched the first version of the fine line tattooing programme, I wasn’t sure if people would be able pick it up, I thought it would serve as more of a digital reference book, but then after being asked repeatedly for access from overseas artists, I started to see the results I was blown away. To be clear this is not for beginners, and is no substitute to a full learning experience, this programme is best suited to advanced tattoo artists wanting to learn more about how we create black and grey, fine line tattoos with a 3 round liner.
Artists are practical people and very self driven, we all have to find our own way to making our hands do what we envisage, it takes years of dedication to become excellent at anything, and one very important part of improving is being open to learning all the way along that personal journey.
Everyone learns at different rates, and you shouldn’t compare your timeline to another, our students are focused on critiquing their techniques, following the lessons they can explore our in depth guide of how we create our fine line tattoos.
It turns out that watching the videos and doing everything step-by-step is very valuable”
